Olsnesnipa og Olsnessåta

En fin rundtur fra parkeringsplassen på Båtaleitet. Her er det også tavle som viser ulike turløyper og informasjon om naturen i området.

Stien oppover er godt merket med gule stolper og streker på berget. Litt småmyrete mellom bergknausene, men stort sett god sti hele veien.

Turen begynner ved å følge hovedveien ved parkeringen nordover rundt svingen. Her går man inn på stien som går mot høyre, på østsiden av parkeringen. Følg stien videre i nordlig retning. Den går i mykt og slakt terreng uten bratte stigninger inntil man skal opp på Olsnesnipa (532 m.o.h.) På toppen av Olsensnipa flater terrenget ut igjen. Nyt utsikten mot fjellene på østsiden av Veafjorden på toppen.

Videre er det litt slakkere stigning og en kommer til stikryss mot Olsnessåta (600 m.o.h.) Stien følges sørover og underveis passeres mange idylliske småvann. Noen rødstilk hekker i området.

A fine circular hike from the parking area at Båtaleitet. There is also an information board showing the various hiking trails and information about the natural world in the area.

The path up is well marked by yellow posts and lines in the rock. It is a little boggy among the crags but generally a good path all the way.

The walk begins by following the main road at the parking area northwards around the bend. Here, go onto the path leading to the right, on the eastern side of the parking area. Continue to follow the path in a northerly direction. It runs over soft, gentle terrain with no steep climbs until you come to the point of ascending Olsnesnipa (532 m above sea level). The terrain flattens out again on the summit of Olsnesnipa. Enjoy the view from the summit over to the mountains on the eastern side of Veafjorden.

As you continue, there is a small amount of gentle climbing and you will come to a path junction towards Olsnessåta. Follow the path southwards, passing many idyllic small lakes on the way. A number of redshank nest in the area.

Getting there by car

From Bergen, follow the E16 in the direction of Voss until you arrive at Kvisti bridge. Drive over and follow the road along the side of the fjord to Bruvik. Continue up the steep and winding road to Båtaleitet. Large area for parking and starting point for several mountain hikes.

Getting there by public transport

From Bergen, train to Arna and then by bus 200 to Kvisti (Osterøy) and 201 to Bruvik. No bus connection from there. Taxi to Båtaleitet if required. There is a hiking path from Bruvik to Båtaleitet, so you do not need to follow the vehicular road up.
