Topptur på ski til Store Finsenuten 1599 moh fra Finse Stasjon

Fra første til siste snøfall gjennom vinteren er toppturen til Store Finsenuten den enklest tilgjengelige fra Finse for den som vil kjøre litt brattere på ski. Fra stasjonen går du nordvestover langs Finsevatnet på nedsiden av togskinnene. Dersom du er uttrygg på forholdene anbefaler vi å gjøre toppturen som en rundtur.

Du går da nordover etter at togskinnene forsvinner inn i tunellen, og runder inn dalen mellom Finsesåta og Store Finsenuten. Baksida av fjellet er slak og du kommer enkelt til toppen. Du kan så skli ned igjen på vestsiden av fjellet og enten gå over Finseskaret eller langs Finsevatnet tilbake til stasjonen. Dersom snøforholdene er gode og du har nødvendig skredkunnskap og utstyr, fins det flere muligheter til gode oppturer og nedkjøringer på framsida av fjellet.

From the first snowfall to the last snow of winter, the summit tour to Store Finsenuten is the most easily accessible option from Finse for those looking for slightly steeper skiing.

From the station, head northwest along Lake Finsevatnet on the lower side of the railway tracks. If you are uncertain about the conditions, we recommend doing the tour as a loop.

In that case, continue north once the railway disappears into the tunnel, and follow the valley between Finsesåta and Store Finsenuten. The backside of the mountain is gentle, making for an easy ascent to the summit.

From the top, you can ski down the western side of the mountain and either cross Finseskaret or follow Lake Finsevatnet back to the station.

If snow conditions are good and you have the necessary avalanche knowledge and equipment, there are several excellent ascent and descent options on the front side of the mountain.
